While Spears, 26, relaxed and sipped water in a cabana at the Cinevegas party at the Palms Place, Federline drank Jack Daniels at Strip House only a few miles away. Knowing that you’ll be looking back at photos of your prom for a very long time– what you wear and how you look is crucial. Yes, many of us have already survived our proms, but some of us might have kids who we’d like to help look their and ALL of us have occasions where we want to look our best.
I asked Jeff Gautier, stylist to the stars who often does my hair & makeup for the Today Show, to give us some of his “best dressed” advice. Here’s what he had to say:
“Nothing is worse than seeing a person constantly tugging, lifting, adjusting, or trying to cover themselves up the whole night. You must be comfortable in what you’re wearing. Now that a loaf of bread has never been so expensive, what are we to make of the fact that the shops are full of frivolously flounced prom dresses? Perhaps fashion is having a Marie Antoinette moment, by making a pronouncement that is the sartorial equivalent of ‘Let them eat cake’. Or could it be a hankering to return to the innocence of a semi-fictional 1950s Americana landscape, when girls looked like Olivia Newton-John in Grease, and bad boys were no more threatening than a young John Travolta?
